Overview

The V2G Series turns the car battery into part of the home energy system. When the vehicle supports bidirectional charging, the wallbox can feed energy back to the house or the grid; with any other car it works as a normal smart AC charger.

Communication with the car runs over ISO 15118-2 and ISO 15118-20 power-line communication. That also enables plug & charge, where the car identifies itself automatically.

At only 97 mm deep it is the slimmest wallbox in the MOLZEX range, which suits modern façades and narrow carports.

Highlights

  • Bidirectional power flow with V2G-capable vehicles
  • ISO 15118-2 and -20 power-line communication built in
  • Plug & charge: the car identifies itself, no card needed
  • 97 mm deep — the slimmest MOLZEX wallbox

Best for: Homes with solar and storage, energy companies and pilot projects for vehicle-to-grid

Engineering

  • 01

    Vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid

With a compatible car, stored energy can run the house in the evening or be sold to the grid at peak prices, under control of the energy platform.

  • 02

    Plug & charge

ISO 15118 lets the car authenticate itself — no RFID card or app tap at public or fleet sites.

  • 03

    Ready for energy platforms

OCPP 2.0.1 gives energy managers and utilities the smart-charging and bidirectional control they need.

Installation

  • Wall mounting; cable entry from the bottom or back
  • Grid-feed operation must follow local grid-connection rules — check with the network operator
  • Commission with OCPP 2.0.1 for bidirectional control

Options

  • Tethered Type 2 cable
  • 4G and Ethernet
  • PEN fault protection (UK)
  • Custom housing

FAQ

Does every electric car support V2G?

No. Discharging needs a vehicle and firmware that support bidirectional charging. The charger also charges every Type 2 car normally.

Is grid export allowed everywhere?

Rules differ by country and network operator. Check the current local requirements before enabling grid export.

What is ISO 15118-20?

The communication standard between car and charger that adds bidirectional power transfer and plug & charge.
