How to choose a home wallbox
- 01
Check the supply first
Single-phase homes top out at 7.4 kW (32 A). 11 kW and 22 kW need a three-phase supply.
- 02
Match the car
Many cars charge at 7–11 kW on AC. A 22 kW wallbox only helps cars with a 22 kW onboard charger.
- 03
Socket or cable
A tethered cable is convenient at home; a socket suits shared garages where each driver brings a cable.
- 04
Plan for solar and V2G
Load balancing protects the main breaker; solar mode and V2G make the car part of the home energy system.
Questions about home ac wallboxes
Which wallbox is best for a single-phase home?
Any 7.4 kW model — for example MZ-EVL7-T with screen and RFID, or the 7.4 kW versions of EVX, EVR and Mini.
Do you have chargers for the USA and Canada?
Yes. The EVX Series has North American versions at 32, 40 and 48 A with an SAE J1772 connector.
